Copper Curios is a duet consisting of Demetris Yiasemides and Eva Stavrou. Their music is influenced by contemporary classical music, electronic music as well as free improvisation. A soundscape of natural and electronic sounds is used as a base for the two musicians to create and evolve their ideas. Flute ambient sounds, interlocking melodies, trombone drones, hypnotic chorales and electronic beats all melt together to create Copper Curios’s sound world. A sonic journey through time. The duo inhabits a sonic landscape defined by contrast and continuity. Their instruments breathe and shimmer alongside electronics that extend, reflect, and sometimes dissolve the acoustic gesture. The result is music in a constant state of transformation: fluid, porous, and situated in the interstices between the analog and the digital.
